April 25, 2023 For many spirit makers and enthusiasts, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the most prestigious forum in the industry. This year, over 6000 entries from all over the world competed for the coveted awards. Naturally, we are incredibly stoked when our Ginger Liqueur received a DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL from this lofty competition. A great way to celebrate Continue Reading...Pear Brandy Release Party
After years of development, we are finally releasing our first pear brandy. Pears are a bit difficult due to having a small window between optimum ripeness and too far gone. We used Oregon Bartlett pears and aged for 2 years in used French Oak (former pinot noir casks) to avoid overpowering the delicate pear flavor. Stop by and check it Continue Reading...Earth Day Pledge: No more GMO corn!
April 17, 2021 Spiritopia’s award-winning products are getting a sustainability upgrade this Earth Day! Sourcing ingredients that maximize flavor and minimize environmental impact is always a challenge. Corn is no exception. Corn is an important ingredient in our whiskeys, and we also previously used neutral spirit derived from corn in our liqueurs that are infusions (where the core ingredient has Continue Reading...Sanitizer Finale
We stopped making hand sanitizer at the end of 2020 (because the Oregon Board of Pharmacy said "the public health emergency is over"). We still have a few 50ml and small spray bottles left that we are giving away at the Corvallis tasting room....2020 Brut Rose Sparkling Wine
The base wine for this sparkling is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. These are two of the three grapes used to make true champagne (the other being Chardonnay). However, this wine has a subtle pink hue and a dry Continue Reading...Spiritopia adds new tasting room in Albany
We found a great space in the heart of Albany's downtown, right by the carousel and the best restaurants (333 1st Ave W). It is currently open for bottle sales and tastings. Due to multiple staffing issues, it is best to call ahead (541-990-0337). Later, we hope to add mini-cocktails to our offerings. The space is larger than our current Continue Reading...Second tasting room coming for Spiritopia
Newsflash! Spiritopia is planning to open a second tasting room, this one in downtown Albany. Hopefully we will be ready to reveal it on November 5, 2020 - the date of this year's Downtown Unwrapped celebration. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and this website for more updates....COVID update 8/19/20
The good news: The tasting room is open 12-5 Saturdays and by appt. We are tasting outdoors with masks required (except while sipping), social distancing, contactless payments, and protocols to reduce contact. We also still have free hand sanitizer in 50 ml bottles and quarts($10) and gallons($40) for those who need more. The bad news: Most events are canceled for Continue Reading...Alcohols 1,2,3
***DISCLAIMER*** This is a little bit of a chemistry lesson. Sorry, but there is a need to explain a little bit about alcohols in relation to sanitizer. I will keep it brief, I promise! Alcohol #1 (Methanol) I call methanol "alcohol #1" because it has just one carbon atom. The rest are Hs and Os. The key thing to know about Continue Reading...
