Yes, as a matter of fact, that is a reference to the Manhattan. Like many classic recipes, they have stood the test of time. It's also fun to re-invigorate them with an additional layer like ginger which blends naturally with Bourbon. Spiritopia ginger liqueur adds a nice ginger zing to the cocktail without adding too much sweetness.

1 oz Spiritopia Ginger Liqueur

2 oz Bourbon (I'm a Maker's Mark fan)

1 oz Dry Vermouth

1 dash Bitters

The Angostura aromatic bitters is the classic choice, but try their citrus bitters for a fun change of pace.

Mix the ingredients in a shaker and pour over cubed ice or stones. Cherry garnish if desired.
